Procrastination we all know him well; this unwanted invitee has been cluttering our stir lists and plaguing our minds. Procrastination has diode to miles of mindless scrolling every day glorifying the lives of others whereas you eat chips on the couch and do nothing regarding your nice plan. However, this is not where you wish to remain. Well, then what’s there we are able to do about it?
Welcome to Robust story, let’s check out some ways to beat procrastination and achieve our dreams.
What Is Procrastination?
Everyone who tells you they never procrastinate might be liars. Trust me everyone does! Me, You everyone goes through the time where they delay the to do things. Procrastination comes from the Latin verb, “procrastinare” basically, it means deferred to tomorrow. We become massive procrastinators when we unconsciously start delaying tasks even though, by not finishing them, there will be massive, negative consequences of that. It starts with the fact of stressing about things which we have to do, this can include everything. Some people do not procrastinate often because they believe if something needs to be done, Get done with it as fast as you can.
Some Speakers like Tim Irvin define it as “the monkey in our brains” which is actually trying to get us into instant gratification, while the logical side of our brain is trying to do the right things and this is directly connected to the Pleasure Principle. This simply means that we tend to avoid something that we are supposed to do, we might fail at it and so instantly we drag ourselves into pleasure mode because it’s kind of easy and we know we are going to have pleasure out of that.
You can deal with procrastination by levelling up your self-esteem. You know those moments very well, where you are feeling a little low, that you don’t feel that your energy is as up as usual.
“I don’t even like the food anymore that I used to like” “This music doesn’t make me happy anymore”.
Do you know that feeling? These are the moments that the monkey comes and dominates your mind and you procrastinate about everything. So when you find yourself in those moments, the best way to change the pattern is to actually have some “me” time. Reset, Breathe, and know this moment will pass.
Talk to People – Call your friends or family.
Yes, here I am not telling you to go out and meet them. Well, doing that will delay everything you planned for yourself. Pick up the phone talk to them. Share what you are feeling or listen to their stories. You will see the change in your energy. We as human always feel better when we communicate. And then dive back to your work. Simple isn’t it? Try this. It Always works.

How prolific was his procrastination? well, virgin on the rocks took 13 years to complete and it took him 16 years to complete the Mona Lisa. He also left scores of unfinished works in his wake when he passed away.
So if you ever feel bad about not shedding the pounds before summer; just think of old da Vinci and give yourself a break. but just a small one. otherwise, you’d be procrastinating.
