Mark Bezos, Bezos’ brother, is a senior vice president of Robin Hood, a New York City charitable organization. He was previously the owner of an advertising agency.
Elon Musk, known for his romanticism of Mars and the celestial world supported through his space exploration company, SpaceX, doesn’t intend to hover into Space in any future human-crewed mission soon.
The only competitor to Jeff Bezos’s mission would be Richard Branson’s space exploration firm, Virgin Galactic.
Branson has maintained that he will be among the first passengers on Virgin Galactic’s rocket-powered plane, although that journey is not scheduled until later in 2021.
The company’s six-seater capsule and the 59-foot rocket will fly toward the edge of space on an 11-minute mission that will reach more than 60 miles above Earth.
Blue Origin said in May that it was prepared to send the first people in a New Shepard capsule after six years of intense and often confidential research of the rocket and capsule known as New Shepard.

All about Blue Origin
Bezos founded Blue Origin in 2000, and the organization completed over a dozen flight tests with no one on board at Blue Origin’s headquarters in the United States of America.
Using $250,000 from his parents, Bezos established Amazon in 1994 as an ecommerce bookstore. Over the years, it has grown to become one of the world’s largest corporations, with operations ranging from Amazon Web Services, a cloud technology business with clients ranging from Netflix to the CIA.
Furthermore, the umbrella opens to owning MGM, the James Bond film studio, to holding a significant stake in Rivian, an electric car company.
By 1999, when Bezos was selected Time Magazine’s Person of the Year, Amazon’s meteoric success had increased his income to more than a billion dollars. He founded Blue Origin in 2000 and previously stated that he sold upwards of $1 billion in Amazon shares each year to finance his company’s rocket operations.
Bezos will continue to be associated with Amazon, but he will take on the job of executive chairman.
Andy Jassy, the current head of the cloud computing business, AWS, would succeed as the new CEO.

Apart from the New Shepard, Blue Origin is developing New Glenn, a mammoth rocket that the corporation hopes will be used to launch US government and commercial satellites into orbit and make missions to deep space.
Blue Origin hoped to be a part of NASA’s plan to return humans to the moon by 2024, but it lost out to SpaceX for the contract to build the lunar lander that would transport astronauts from the moon’s orbit to the surface.
Although NASA has stated that Blue Origin is still eligible to bid on future lunar missions, Blue Origin has filed an appeal against the contract decision.
“I’m interested in space because I’m passionate about it,” Bezos once remarked in an interview with Mathias Döpfner, the CEO of Axel Springer.
Adding more to it, Blue Origin & Amazon’s founder added. “I’ve been studying and thinking about it since I was five years old, but that’s not why I’m doing this work.” I’m doing this job because I believe that if we don’t, we’ll end up with a civilization of stasis, which I find quite depressing.”
In his latest Instagram post, Jeff Bezos, while delving into his childhood dreams, captioned,
“Ever since I was five years old, I’ve dreamed of travelling to space. On July 20th, I will take that journey with my brother. The greatest adventure with my best friend.”
Although Elon Musk, through the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch, succeeded Bezos in putting astronauts into the orbits, Bezos is set to turn the tables on July 20th when he would personally venture into the celestial world.
Also the date July 20th is significant as it marks the 52nd anniversary of Apollo 11 Moon landing.
